I’ve had the privilege of knowing Traci since she was in preschool. Her older sister, Kathryn, has been one of my best friends since Kindergarten, so I’ve watched Traci grow from “my best friend’s little sister” to the gorgeous woman she is today. I still remember when Kathryn told me about Traci and Lyle. She went on about how great of a guy he is and how excited she was for her sister. Needless to say, we were all thrilled when Lyle proposed to Traci! They originally considered forgoing a traditional wedding for a simple courthouse ceremony. Instead, they decided on an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family – which we are BIG fans of! When Traci called us about wedding photography, we were SO excited and felt so honored!
On October 14th, in front of their closest friends and family, Traci and Lyle became husband and wife. With its floor to ceiling windows displaying beautiful views of downtown Houston and beyond, The Houston Club was the perfect venue for this gorgeous fall wedding. Lyle’s mom is a floral genius, and her gorgeous, creative touches were perfectly placed all over the ballroom. We LOVED the floral arbor at the altar, the calligraphy labels by Be Sweet Ink that were added to each bouquet and boutonniere, and the simple and elegant floral crown that Traci wore. The soft pinks and cream flowers mixed with the flowing greenery went perfectly with the navy table clothes.
Traci and Lyle’s evening ceremony was sweet and simple, and the light pouring in from the windows made for the most ethereal photos. After they said “I do”, we took the new Mr. and Mrs. into the streets of downtown for what has become one of our favorite portrait sessions to date! The towering skyscrapers and street lights made for the perfect backdrop. Once we finished pictures, it was time for dinner! Traci and Lyle opted to share their first meal as husband and wife alone, which we thought was so sweet. And then the party moved to the dance floor! The bride and groom decided to have their guests toss lavender for their big exit. If you look closely, you’ll notice that Lyle’s brother got a little overzealous and decided to dump the entire bowl of lavender on the new couple! Traci and Lyle will honeymoon in Costa Rico after the first of the year.
Mr. and Mrs. Davis,
We cannot thank you enough for giving us the privilege of being a part of your most special day! Your wedding was perfect in every way, and was a beautiful reflection of your love for one another! We are so thrilled that the Lord brought you two together, and could not be more excited for all that marriage has in store for you!
